Success Stories

IVC Evidensia (UK)

Organisation: IVC Evidensia (UK)

Sector: Veterinary

Location: Across the UK

Company size: 15,000

About: IVC Evidensia (UK) is part of a leading global veterinary group, operating hundreds of practices with a diverse workforce of vets, nurses, and support staff.

The Challenge

IVC Evidensia (UK) had been strengthening their wellbeing resources and support but wanted to ensure their approach was consistent and aligned with best practice across all sites. They sought to join the Workplace Wellbeing Charter to validate their current strategy, identify areas for improvement, and ensure employees received consistent support across the organisation.

Why the Workplace Wellbeing Charter?

The Workplace Wellbeing Charter covered all the elements of wellbeing that IVC Evidensia (UK) were looking for to support their colleagues, including the eight standards that are in line with best practice and the latest research. IVC Evidensia (UK) also felt that the ongoing support they would receive, not only through the accreditation, but for the following two years afterwards would be incredibly beneficial.

The Accreditation Process

IVC Evidensia (UK) chose to undertake the Workplace Wellbeing Charter Accreditation to externally validate their wellbeing offering, highlight areas for improvement, and strengthen links between wellbeing and other colleague-facing processes.

Using the Charter’s online portal and guidance, the team reviewed their existing processes against the eight measured standards. This process allowed them to demonstrate the level of support already in place while identifying opportunities for further development.

Results

The Workplace Wellbeing Charter Accreditation has enabled IVC Evidensia (UK) to strengthen and expand their wellbeing strategy.  Key highlights include:

  • Strengthening links between wellbeing policies, employee support, and wellbeing initiatives
  • Building on existing interventions, including Wellbeing Champions, and introducing new staff training on key topics
  • Setting clear priorities for wellbeing development over the next two years
  • Excelling in Mental Health support, offering a comprehensive range of services and benefits
  • Reinforcing their employer of choice status for new and existing employees

This commitment is also reflected in the support provided to employees during every stage of the colleague lifecycle from pre-employment, throughout their career and as they leave the business.

The Verdict

Sarah Trouse, Colleague Experience Specialist, said:

“Working with Suzanne, our Wellbeing Consultant, through the Workplace Wellbeing Charter accreditation process was a really positive experience.

“The online portal and guidance made it easy for us to review our wellbeing processes and offerings and see how they linked across the 8 measured standards. The evidence collation was also a great opportunity to see how far we have come as a business in supporting our colleagues as we were able to demonstrate the depth of support available.

“Following our successful accreditation the feedback has given a clear indication of where to focus next to make sure we continue to lead the way in supporting colleagues in the veterinary sector.”
