Did you know that an estimated 555,000 workers in Britain sustained an injury at work in 2017/18? 

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training. 

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is specifically designed for individuals who wish to act as a first aider in their workplace. Successful candidates will learn how to manage a range of injuries and illnesses that could occur at work and will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give emergency first aid.

 

Over this course you will cover:

  • The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Assessing an incident 
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty 
  • CPR and Defibrillation
  • The recovery position, heart attack, stroke, choking, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, anaphylaxis, shock, head and spinal injuries, chest injuries, wounds and bleeding, fractures and more

Who should take this course?

This course is suitable for any member of staff at any level who has a specific responsibility at work to provide first aid in a range of emergency situations. 

Course delivery:

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a 3-day course. It is delivered in house for a group of 12 staff. Please enquire to find out more. 

Alternatively, we deliver open sessions at our Head Office in Liverpool throughout the year. Due to Covid-19, we currently have no available dates for open training sessions

Where do you operate your Health & Safety services?

As our Health & Safety services require face-face visits to premises, they are currently limited to the North West. Our Head Office is based in Liverpool.

What is the duration of your CPR & AED course?

The course is 2 hours.

How many individuals can I put on a CPR & AED course in house?

The session is for a maximum of 12 individuals. We require a large training room and we can train six individuals in the first hour and six in the second hour. We use disposable face masks and after the first hour they are replaced, and manikins wiped down. We continue to obey the guidance set out by the Health and Safety Executive. Latest update 05/01/2021.

What is the duration of the Emergency First Aid at Work training?

The session takes place 09:00am – 16:30pm, inclusive of a 1 hour lunch break.

Does the Fire Marshal Training include Fire Extinguisher practical use?

For an additional fee of £30.00, we can provide an Oxygen and CO2 Fire Extinguisher practical demonstration.
